Sculptural Acoustics at Aubamar Convention Centre

At Aubamar Convention Centre in Mallorca, acoustic performance becomes a defining part of the architecture, with a spectacular custom Zintra ceiling bringing movement, warmth and visual impact to the space.

Designed by Estudio Felip Polar, the convention centre features a custom Zintra Baffle System flowing across the ceiling in sweeping, organic contours. A bespoke Custom Wood Print was developed to complement the laminated timber finishes used on the surrounding walls, creating a cohesive material language throughout the interior.

And the impact is measurable. Following the installation of Zintra, reverberation time was reduced from 3.64 seconds to 1.08 seconds - a significant improvement in acoustic performance for the convention space.

The installation demonstrates the design flexibility of Zintra, with acoustic baffles customised in both form and finish to respond to the broader interior concept.

The result is a ceiling where acoustic performance and architectural expression work seamlessly together - reinforcing Felip Polar's considered approach to light, material honesty and timeless interior design.
