At their Surry Hills Head Office, COOOP.co, a multidisciplinary design studio, has created an in-house podcast studio designed for more than recording — a refined, intimate space for conversation, collaboration, and reflection.

The COOOP.co Podcast Room is a purpose-built studio developed primarily for internal discussions around EnviroHacking, the studio’s core design ethos focused on shaping human experience through environment. The room also welcomes clients into a private setting for ideation, meetings, and recordings, offering a calm retreat within the head office environment.

Acoustics were a central consideration. COOOP.co required a solution that could respond to the room’s curved geometry while maintaining a warm, neutral aesthetic suited to both audio performance and visual comfort.

The space features Zintra Acoustics 12mm and 24mm custom-cut narrow wall panels in Pebble, selected for their soft tonal quality and acoustic performance. Chamfered edges allow for seamless joins, enabling the panels to wrap elegantly around the curved walls. Custom-made acoustic ceiling circles complete the enveloping form, enhancing sound control while reinforcing the room’s sculptural quality.

The result is a cocooned, highly considered environment that quiets external noise and sharpens focus — supporting clarity, connection, and meaningful exchange.
