Baresque was proud to partner with Woods Bagot on the Adelaide Airport Passenger Experience Enhancement Projects (PEEPs), a series of upgrades designed to elevate the passenger experience across key areas of the terminal.
Spanning Gate Lounges, International Arrivals, Children’s Playspace and Family Dining, the Sensory Room and VIP Suites, the projects share a human-centred approach focused on inclusion, accessibility and wellbeing.
Referencing land and sky, Woods Bagot’s design draws on Kaurna notions of Deep Time and the site’s wetland history, using spatial planning, materiality and detail to create interiors grounded in South Australian place, culture and identity.
Upholstery designed for high-traffic spaces
For the Gate Lounges, Baresque supplied Napoli silicone upholstery in Enoki and Mushroom, selected to balance passenger comfort with the demanding operational requirements of a high-traffic airport environment.
Its soft handle and warm, natural tones complement the interior palette, while exceptional durability, cleanability and anti-graffiti properties help maintain the appearance of the seating and reduce ongoing maintenance requirements.
During the selection process, Baresque demonstrated Napoli’s cleanability, including the removal of permanent marker using a standard eraser. Woods Bagot then conducted a live demonstration on the seating prototype with Adelaide Airport, helping validate the material’s performance and build confidence in the specification.
