The newly opened Fishbowl venue in Rosalie is a striking addition to Brisbane’s hospitality scene — an energetic, light-filled space designed by Studio gram and delivered by Cubed Building & Construction. At the heart of the fit-out is an inspired use of Lightblocks Board Colour 15mm custom table tops in a vibrant yellow hue, showcasing the product’s versatility across colour, shape and vibrancy.

Freedom in Shape & Finish

A defining feature of the venue is the series of custom-shaped table tops, made possible by Lightblocks Board’s adaptable fabrication capabilities. The material enabled studio gram to create organic, flowing geometries that bring personality and playfulness into the space.

Its solid resin composition eliminates the need for a visible substrate, resulting in a seamless, monolithic appearance. The 15mm thickness was intentionally selected to highlight light transference through the edges, allowing the colour to subtly radiate from the sides of the tables and add visual depth.

Finished in Dulux Aztec Glimmer, the luminous yellow tone energises the interior, delivering a warm and welcoming atmosphere perfectly suited to hospitality.

Designed for Hospitality Performance

Beyond its visual impact, Lightblocks Board delivers the durability essential for high-traffic environments:

  • Scratch-resistant and impact-resistant surface

  • Solid, non-laminated construction

  • Easy to clean and maintain

  • Fully refinishable resin surface

The Fishbowl Rosalie project demonstrates how minimalist yet considered material selection can transform a venue. Here, Lightblocks Board moves beyond function to become a defining design feature - bringing vibrancy, warmth and sculptural form to the dining experience.

By combining bold colour, custom fabrication and robust performance, the project highlights the potential of Lightblocks Board in contemporary hospitality spaces, where aesthetics and durability work seamlessly together.
