The refurbishment of the Central Land Council’s offices focused on enhancing both functionality and privacy in the workplace. Given the sensitive nature of discussions within the building, the client’s brief prioritised the incorporation of effective acoustics throughout every space to ensure confidentiality and comfort.
To meet these requirements, Co-Lab Architects specified Zintra acoustic panels in plain colours for two walls in each meeting room, providing superior sound absorption and a discreet, professional environment. In common areas, the design was further enhanced with the warm tones of Zintra Timber Spotted Gum, complementing the building’s existing aesthetic.
High ceilings in certain areas posed a challenge in managing sound, so we recommended Mesh Baffles Herringbone for their acoustic control, versatility, and range of colour options. The selected colours—Sunshine, Blush, and Tar—were inspired by the Aboriginal flag, adding a culturally meaningful touch to the office design.
This thoughtful approach to design and acoustics ensures that the Central Land Council’s offices provide a respectful, private, and comfortable environment for all.
