The new BDO Montreal workplace demonstrates how thoughtful interior design can support employee wellbeing, productivity, and collaboration. Designed by Lemay Montreal in partnership with Gestion Canaan and delivered with our Canadian distributor Crown Surface Solutions, the project combines biophilic design, sustainable materials, and acoustic performance to create a healthy, inspiring workplace filled with natural light, greenery, and spaces that support a variety of work styles.
Acoustic design as an architectural feature
A standout element of the project is the custom ceiling installation featuring the Zintra Baffle Systems Swell in Smoke and a curated selection of digitally printed colours. Designed to create a striking ombré effect, the sculptural ceiling feature transforms the space visually while enhancing acoustic comfort throughout the workplace.
Working closely with the design team, Crown Surface Solutions developed a bespoke solution that translated the original design concept into a practical and high-performing acoustic installation. The result is a ceiling feature that supports speech clarity and reduces noise within open-plan environments, helping to create spaces that encourage focus, collaboration, and employee wellbeing.
Sustainable materials supporting healthy interiors
Material selection played an important role in achieving the project's wellness objectives. Manufactured from 100% recyclable PET and featuring low VOC emissions, Zintra contributes to healthier indoor environments while supporting the project's sustainability goals.
Combined with natural materials and biophilic design principles, the acoustic ceiling installation demonstrates how carefully selected interior products can enhance both environmental performance and user experience.
