Rydges Gold Coast Airport Hotel - the Gold Coast’s new pre and post flight destination for meeting with friends, family and colleagues. The Baresque Group (TBG) collaborated with Design Nu to create an open-plan, coastal hotel interior which reflected the local Gold Coast lifestyle and surroundings.
The Entrance and Lobby
While the aesthetics of a hotel are always of paramount importance, with guests wanting to immediately feel welcomed, relaxed and ready to enjoy the good things in life - the brief for this project also required Baresque to consider the added challenge of airport proximity and the effect of vibration on the ceiling’s structural components and fixtures.
For this purpose, Baresque proposed a custom Zintra Acoustic Baffle for the ceilings, which are a lightweight and easy-to-install acoustic solution, perfect for complying with the structural requirements of the project. In addition to Zintra Acoustics, the hotel also features a number of Baresque products from wallcoverings to fabrics, decorative cladding and tabletops.
When guests arrive in the lobby, they are met with a grand entrance featuring an ocean-inspired custom Zintra Wave Baffle. Decorative wallcoverings and Seraphic digital print murals designed by Australian Artist Laura Crane . Her work lines the hallways and amenities to create a sense of calm.
The Runway Restaurant and Bar
In the Runway Restaurant and Bar, the brief was to replicate traditional timber ceilings to create a calming, visual centrepiece that reflected the surrounding sea, sun and rolling waves. Our in-house design team created a custom Zintra Acoustic Baffle based off the hook design with digital print technology to replicate specific timber species. The result was so impressive that it went on to inspire our very own acoustic panels in timber offering.
The Salty Fox Rooftop Bar
The hotel’s rooftop bar, The Salty Fox, allows guests the perfect vantage point to take in the views. The space showcases a Seraphic digital print by Artist Laura Crane, as well as Zintra Baffles and Stratek in Malachite tabletops perched on wine barrels.
